Bind Us Together
By James Walters

What does the Christian faith have to say to a world that feels increasingly fragmented? We live in an age of extraordinary connection and profound disconnection. The devices we carry in our pockets give us access to the whole world, yet many of us feel increasingly isolated from the people around us. Political polarisation, climate crisis, conflict and declining trust in our institutions can leave us wondering where we belong, and what difference we can possibly make.In Bind Us Together, James Walters argues that the answer begins not with grand strategies or easy solutions, but with building community. Drawing on Scripture, theology, music, literature and encounters with Christian communities today, he explores how Christians can rediscover their calling to become people who bind the world together in love. From singing and service to interfaith encounter and care for creation, Walters shows how ordinary practices can become places where God is renewing human relationships. At the heart of it all is worship - not an escape from a troubled world, but the formation of people capable of engaging it with courage, compassion and hope.Bind Us Together offers a Lenten journey into a deeper understanding of what it means to be the Church and how faith in the crucified and risen Jesus can become a source of healing in a fractured world. Whether read by individuals or in small groups, it is an invitation to rediscover community as a participation in the creative and redemptive work of God.
